Upper School History Teacher The Packer Collegiate Institute is looking for an Upper School History teacher for the 2019-20 school year to teach ninth and tenth grades. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience teaching U.S. History and World History. An ideal candidate is a person who possesses strong content knowledge and a range of pedagogical approaches to help students practice the historical thinking skills and the habits of mind that will empower them to interrogate the past, develop evidence-based arguments, and make connections to the present. They would also be capable of teaching global electives related to the Caribbean, Latin America, or Africa. In addition to teaching, full-time faculty serves as advisors to support the social and emotional well-being of a cohort of grade-level students. Familiarity with technology in history instruction is a plus, and the desire to collaborate in planning curriculum with other members of a harmonious department is essential.
