MBA Director and Professor of Accounting (Rank open) beginning in summer 2019
POSITION: Holy Names University in Oakland, CA is seeking applicants for the position of MBA Program Director and Professor of Accounting (rank open). The MBA Director is a faculty member who oversees all aspects of HNU's graduate Business programming and serves as arole model and mentor for MBA students. The Director will also be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate accounting courses, including Principles of Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Advanced Accounting Theory, and Advanced Managerial Accounting. This is a 24-unit (10 month) contract position.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):
Fulfills faculty responsibilities
Reviews applications to the MBA and MSN/MBA programs and makes decisions regarding admissions
Conducts orientation for new MBA students.
Serves as advisor to all students in the MBA program as well as advising students in the MSN/MBA program regarding the business side of that degree.
Reviews the academic status of specific students.
Coordinates with school leadership and Admissions personnel to provide information at any student recruiting sessions and assists with marketing efforts.
Recommends hiring and reviews the performance of adjunct faculty members in the MBA program.
Has the primary responsibility of planning and overseeing activities conducive to program development, including the design, implementation and managing new initiatives.
Is an active member of the Graduate Curriculum and Standards Committee.
Engages in outreach activities related to the development of the MBA program, such as visiting local employers, networking with the local chamber of commerce.
Represents the HNU program regionally and nationally
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications: MBA or Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience and 2-4 years administrative experience as a Chair or Program Director.
