Georgetown Day School, an independent day school in Washington, D.C., seeks a High School English teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Primary job responsibilities include teaching four sections of English at the high school level. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, teachers at the high school serve as a student advisor and assume responsibility for a major student activity as part of their general duties. Rich content, creative pedagogy and authentic relationships are essential components of a GDS classroom. Qualifications: a B.S. in English, Comparative Literature or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will possess an M.A., three years or more of teaching experience, and a background in rhetoric and debate.
