Christ Episcopal School (CES), a diverse community serving students from preschool through grade 8, is seeking one full-time (PreKindergarten - 8th grade) or two part-time (PreKindergarten - 4th grade and 5th- 8th grade) music teacher(s) for the 2019-2020 school year. Our school makes music a key part of the curriculum. CES is a small, co-ed, independent school with one class at each grade level. The ideal candidate would be interested in joining a collaborative school community, providing a positive and challenging learning experience for each student, using differentiated learning strategies, and embracing an integrated curriculum model.
The music program at CES is performance driven with a general music emphasis in lower school and a choral music emphasis in middle school. There is freedom and support for the music teacher to create a variety of musical opportunities for the students.
Requirements of a successful candidate for teaching middle school at CES:
An undergraduate degree (masters preferred) in music education, vocal performance or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience
A passion for performance, including musical theater and concerts
Good time management and communication skills
Initiative and creativity
A high level of energy and a playful spirit
Successful candidates for all positions at CES must successfully complete a required background check.
