We seek experienced substitute teachers to join our team of educators on an on call / as needed basis. In this position, you will work in the absence of our regular teachers, aiding students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered. You should have some classroom teaching experience and possess the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion.
Substitute Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
Use materials provided to attain lesson goals
Direct the classroom, accomplishing curriculum objectives and goals outlined in the lesson plans
Take attendance according to the procedures of the school, keep classroom and work orderly, and maintain normal classroom rhythms
Compliance with school procedures and policies
Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality
Substitute Teacher Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma required; college degree preferred
Certificate in teaching is a plus
Detail oriented and able to follow written and/or oral instructions
Able to communicate effectively with other personnel and faculty
Confidence and capability in giving instruction in the absence of the regular teacher
Willing and able to work standing for most of the day with few breaks to sit
