Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, a coed, Jewish independent school serving students in Preschool through grade 8 in New Milford, NJ, has an immediate opening for a passionate and innovative Middle School English teacher. There will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to apply for the 2019-2020 school year.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, experienced, and dedicated teacher who thoroughly enjoys working with middle school students and families, has strong written and oral communication skills, a commitment to professional development, and proven success working collaboratively.
Responsibilities include teaching five classes as part of a strong, collaborative team dedicated to integration of curriculum across grades and divisions. SSDS cares deeply about our students at an individual level, teacher collaboration on curriculum, and active participation by teachers in the greater school community.
In addition to teaching English, middle school teachers monitor the social and emotional health of students, enforce rules both in and out of the classroom, and assess and communicate with the school and parents about student progress through report cards and written comments.
