Devon Preparatory School, a Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to twelve, is seeking a certified full time Middle School Art Teacher/Studio Assistant for the 2019-2020 school year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Teach the middle school art classes
Oversee implementation of curriculum
Manage student development of craft
Maintain the art studio organization
Assist the Fine Arts Dept. chair with interdepartmental duties
Experience working with a wide variety of art mediums
Bachelors degree in the Arts or Art Education
Experience working with graphic design mediums such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Comfort using a digital camera and using social media platforms
Teaching Position Responsibilities:
Implement and help innovate the middle school Arts curriculum
Effectively utilize rubrics for student evaluation.
Prep lessons and present information through multiple modes of communication, such as Power Points, videos and worksheets.
Effectively demonstrate skills for students in class, and help them to grow their abilities and artistic voice through different mediums.
Managing behavior and attentiveness in class via successful classroom management
Assistant Position Responsibilities:
Work directly with Arts Department chair to complete weekly to do lists for interdepartmental needs.
Ability to take direction and perform tasks in a timely and organized manner.
Manage student artwork: helping to mount and label student works, as well as create neat display in the hallways.
Utilize social media to help promote the program: Post photographs of student artwork, work in class and upcoming event information.
Graphic Design: Create posters and programs for various Arts events. Utilizing Adobe programs efficiently to complete graphic projects by the deadline.
