Missouri Military Academy is seeking a full-time Choir Director and Music Instructor starting the fall semester of 2019-2020 school year. The Choir Director is responsible for the school’s choral programs, preparing students for competitions and performances, teaching music and vocal classes, assisting with band and music lessons. This position reports to the Fine Arts Chair and Academic Dean.
The ideal candidate is a licensed teacher with a degree in Education, Music, or applicable filed and previous teaching experience in the subject area. A graduate degree is preferred. Persons with expertise in multiple academic areas and/or coaching experience are highly desirable. A commitment to the academic and social/emotional growth of students is essential.
Faculty members serve in a wide capacity across the campus including: club sponsorship, participating in student life activities, and as academic advisors. Being able to work collaboratively with fellow faculty members and residential staff is critical for this position. Candidates should be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and working in a boarding school environment.
