Providing a Catholic education since 1962, Saint Luke School is a thriving parochial school with a rich heritage and a current enrollment of 200 students in pre-K through eighth grade. We are committed to educating the whole child, focusing on both spirituality and academics. In September 2014, the U.S. Secretary of Education recognized Saint Luke School as a Blue Ribbon School of Academic Excellence. This is an honor bestowed on only 337 schools in the country (including 50 private schools) and is a trademark of excellence.
We seek a principal who is a faith-filled practicing Catholic with a passion for educating young people and a strong vision for school growth and development. Excellent communication skills are essential. The principal is the instructional leader of the school and as such is responsible for the hiring and development of faculty and staff. The principal reports directly to the Pastor and is accountable for the day-to-day school administration, community relations, finances and enrollment and development.
A minimum of five years teaching experience in a Catholic school in required. Applicants must have a master's degree in education or educational administration and hold appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision Certificate and Diocesan Religion Certification (or be eligible to obtain these certifications within three years of hire). The candidate must have a demonstrated capacity for and a proven record of achievement in educational administration and school leadership.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start date July 1, 2019.
