Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school located in Washington, DC, seeks a long-term substitute sixth grade homeroom teacher for its Middle School division. This position runs from May 1st through mid-June.
The successful candidate must have experience working with Middle School-age students in a school setting. She/he will be expected to teach two levels of sixth grade math and a section of social studies. The successful candidate must understand the age group, be able to work cooperatively with other teachers, and be excited about working with children from diverse backgrounds. Also required is a genuine appreciation for the Quaker philosophy that underlies the school. She/he will also be expected maintain communication with parents as needed.
