Pingree School is seeking a full-time science teacher, beginning in late August 2019. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of science in a combination of biology, chemistry and advanced environmental science. Pingree has made a strong commitment to 21st century skills development, inquiry science pedagogy and computer-based laboratory techniques in recent years. The successful candidate will have a wide range of teaching abilities, experiences and enthusiasm for current trends in scientific research and sustainability. Candidates who have demonstrated talents in virtual classroom applications, schoology, Google classroom and integration of digital texts will be at an advantage.
Other science related duties include working with our science league team, participating in Science Department meetings and contributing to Science Department projects and initiatives. Additional responsibilities include coaching and and/or supervising two seasons of either a sport or equivalent activity.

Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of experience at the secondary school level or the equivalent in related area or field. A bachelor degree is required and a master’s degree or relevant professional experience in the field of Environmental Science is preferred.
