Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School seeks a dynamic middle-school math teacher for the 2019/20 school year.
Job responsibilities include: • Full-time teaching: teach middle-school courses that potentially range from Grade 5 Everyday Math to Geometry. Ideal candidate will also have the expertise and capacity to teach learning strategies sections that help students with organization, prioritization and study skills. • Math Clinic: support middle-school math students with math questions during an assigned period. This may include conceptual support, assessment review and/or assignment clarification. • Team member: serve as a member on our grade level teams. The team model allows each grade level to fully know and support each student in meeting her/his potential. • Attend and participate in all meetings, events, open houses, etc. as indicated.
The ideal candidate: • Has an undergraduate concentration or master’s degree in mathematics. • Has three or more years of teaching experience or a degree in math education. • Has a specific interest in middle-school education. • Is committed to ongoing growth and development as a professional. • Is invested in positively and actively contributing to the school’s growth and development and is willing to jump in wherever there is a need.

Wyoming Seminary, or more affectionately known as "Sem," is the oldest coeducational independent college preparatory school in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Wyoming Seminary is a day and boarding school with two campuses three miles apart across from the city of Wilkes-Barre. The Lower School in Forty Fort is a day school with classes from preschool (age 3) through grade eight. The Upper School in Kingston is a day/boarding community with classes from grades nine through twelve plus a postgraduate year.
