About Our Summer Program
Our celebrated summertime week-long camps take place on campus at Bertschi School (with some off-campus field trips) and are available for Bertschi and non-Bertschi students entering K-6th grade. Our Summer Program Teachers are trained, experienced professionals with a strong commitment to working with children in a balanced blend of structured activities and free play experiences geared to reinforce Bertschi’s strong focus on cooperation, collaboration, and respect for diversity and social responsibility.
Position General Description
Bertschi is seeking an energetic and positive educator who is comfortable teaching all summer week themes including off campus field trips. Each program teacher will also work closely with a high school volunteer to provide an enriched and exciting summer camp experience.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Experience working with a multi-age/ability group of elementary students preferably in a camp or after-school setting
Ability to differentiate activities from structured activities to free play
Desire to collaborate with director and volunteers to create a positive summer camp experience
Design and implement summer activities in collaboration with summer staff
Supervise groups of children throughout the day in various activities
Ensure the safety and well-being students on and off-campus
Communicate effectively with Summer Program Director
