The Assistant Teacher reports directly to the Center Director and/or Office Manager. The purpose of their job is to work with the team of staff to provide a quality program for children aged 0-5 years in a range of child services. They will implement plans specified by the lead teacher on a daily basis and schedule. They will reinforce behavior management strategies and assist with working with individual children as well as in groups. The Assistant Teacher will prepare materials and areas as well as helping to direct activities. They will aid in modeling to the children appropriate communication and personal hygiene. As a staff member, they must maintain confidentiality at all times as assigned by the Director.
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required and must complete 30 hours of training every two years.
