Norfolk Collegiate is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time middle school mathematics teaching position for the academic year 2019-20. The teaching responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to sixth grade math, pre-algebra, and Algebra I/IA/IB classes, though a background in higher levels of mathematics is preferred. This position also will involve advising a group of middle school students. A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in a middle school setting and a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches to learning. Familiarity with Singapore Math is a plus. We seek teachers who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about teaching middle grades students. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in working with students from a variety of backgrounds who possess a range of abilities and learning styles. This position requires collaborative work with others; therefore, this individual must be able to work effectively with colleagues and parents.
