Palm Beach Day Academy seeks a Middle/Upper School Drama teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.
Candidates for this position have significant experience in teaching drama and theater arts in a middle/upper school environment, experience designing inclusive and multi-cultural curriculum, and are familiar with directing and staging dramatic productions for this age group.As one the school’s flagship programs is the musical, candidates should have experience with musical theater. Strong candidates are qualified to teach within the English and History Departments and have experience leading/teaching a Speech and Debate class or team.
Candidates should be flexible and stay current with educational research in order to be prepared to teach the course content effectively. Teachers should include a variety of teaching strategies in and out of the classroom in order to be effective for all types of learners. This may include, but is not limited to: hands-on learning; project-based learning; place-based learning; collaborative activities; content reading; discussion; and technology. The best candidates will also demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across disciplines. A sense of humor is imperative!

B.A. in Performing Arts, Drama or Theater, or a closely-related discipline
At least 4 years full-time teaching experience in Drama or Theater
