The Woods Academy seeks a lead Robotics teacher for the summer of 2019 (6/17-8/2). While leading a variety of camp activities in the Robotic Engineer camp, an instructor is directly responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of campers during the camp day. Instructors rely on the supplied LEGO Mindstorms and Tetrix Prime materials to guide daily activities.
Experience with Lego Mindstorms and/or Tetrix Prime robotics is preferred, but those with limited exposure are encouraged to apply, as training can be done to accommodate those with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
The primary responsibilities of a Robotics Engineer Instructor include:
Creatively teach cool, innovative concepts to campers in grades 2-8
Use passion for instructing children to inspire campers
Be punctual, professional, and flexible at all times
Provide direct supervision and behavior management of campers
Deliver engaging, safe, and exciting tech-related activities
Ensure a fun, safe, and positive environment
Location & Dates
Camp is located at The Woods Academy in Bethesda, MD
Each session is one week in duration from June 17th-August 2nd (no camp on Thursday, July 4th)
Campers arrive at 9am and depart at 3pm each day
Experience & Education
College enrolled or graduate
General experience and interest with the educational topics you will be working with (STEM, Lego Mindstorms, Tetrix Prime)
Experience working with children in a camp and/or classroom setting
Outgoing and professional personality
Commensurate with experience
