The Board of Education of the Poughkeepsie City School District is seeking a highly qualified educational leader to become its next Superintendent of Schools. The confidential search process will be conducted over the next three months with the successful candidate to begin employment on/about August 1, 2019.
Dr. Thomas Ramming and Dr. Teresa Lawrence, search consultants for the Western New York Educational Service Council at the University of Buffalo, will assist the Poughkeepsie Board of Education in the recruitment and selection process. The consultants will carry out the tasks of publishing the vacancy, accepting/screening applications and recommending selected candidates to the Board of Education for further consideration. Candidates are asked to respond to the search consultants, avoiding direct contact with members of the Board of Education concerning the vacancy.
First interviews will be scheduled for May 31st and June 1st. Selected candidates will be invited back for second interviews June 10-13th. All interviews will be confidential with only the Board and consultants knowing the candidates’ names.
SALARY RANGE: up to $235,000
ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 1, 2019
