The employee is responsible for understanding the Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee Handbook and other school policies of Oxbridge Academy, ensuring the adherence of these policies in performance, action, and self-conduct. The Oxbridge faculty creates and manages a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. This position reports to the Academic Dean via the Department Chair.
Teaches sections of research-based courses such as Honors Quantitative and Qualitative Research: Theory, Design & Practice and Environment Field Research in addition to all levels of Biology
Helps expand the Oxbridge Academy research program. This signature program supports students interested in writing and publishing scientific papers
Prepares learning activities in an environment that fosters collaboration, inquiry, innovation and personal discovery
Provides teaching activities that may include discussion-based methods, project-based learning, tutoring, meaningful feedback and using a range of different learning resources
Adapts and differentiates teaching methods and instructional material to meet students varying needs, abilities and interests
Collaborates with other instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student learning and outcomes
Maintains accurate and complete student records in the current student information system as required by law, policies and administrative regulations
Observe students in a variety of educational environments and evaluate their academic performance, behavior, social development and physical health
Establishes and enforces rules for behavior, cultivating Oxbridge’s core values of kindness, courtesy, integrity, respect, and compassion
Advises a group of students and keeps parents and legal guardians informed about student’s progress.
Pursues relevant professional development to maintain expertise in subject matter, curriculum development, and teaching methods

Four-year degree in appropriate field
A., M.S., or Ph.D. in appropriate fields preferred
Ability to work well with parents and all members of the Oxbridge community
Demonstrated ability to evaluate improved learning, habits, and measurements of achievement
Experience in an independent school environment preferred
Excellent collegiality, professionalism, and organizational ability
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with teenaged students and their parents
Ability to maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment, and work independently
