Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school in Washington, DC seeks a full-time English teacher for its Upper School division. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in English (a master’s is preferred) and at least three years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. A deep understanding of American, British, and Anglophone literature is also required. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and will show a willingness to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced academic environment. An appreciation for adolescents and a sense of humor are also essential.
