The Shipley School, founded in 1894, is a co-educational, college preparatory, independent day school currently enrolling 835 students in grades Pre-K through 12. The Shipley Upper School seeks an experienced high school physics teacher. The candidate will have a degree in physics or related field and clear educational philosophy, which is consistent with the mission of the school. Experience teaching physics at the high school level is essential. Experience in related STEM fields is a plus.
The teacher reports to his or her department chair
Creates a supportive atmosphere and rigorous academic program in which all students will thrive
Advises students and attends faculty meetings
Provides positive, frequent communication with colleagues, administration, and families
Clear educational philosophy, consistent with the mission of the school
Experience teaching science at the high school level
Degree in physics preferred
Must be creative, energetic, and positive as he or she encourages, instructs and evaluates the students in his or her care.
