The Upper School English Department has an opening for a full-time teacher. The successful candidate will teach four sections of 9th grade, 10th grade or 11th grade English. As a full-time faculty member, he/she will serve as an advisor for 8-10 students and support a co-curricular activity by coaching a sport or advising a major school activity. All faculty members are expected to support activities and events that contribute to the life of the school and to attend departmental, divisional and all-school staff meetings.
An undergraduate degree in English is required, and a graduate degree in either Global Literature, English Literature or Education is preferred. We are looking for candidates with at least three to five years of successful high school teaching experience as well as a background and interest in teaching research and writing to students transitioning from middle school to high school. Humanities experience a plus.
