The Caedmon School (Pre-K through Grade 5) is seeking a possible full-time Fourth grade Associate Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year, beginning August 29, 2019. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member, working with two head teachers, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. We seek a compassionate, dedicated and innovative team member who will support our students in the four tenets to our mission: Community, Academic Excellence, Montessori, and Diversity. He or she has a passion for working with children and has an understanding of children’s social, emotional and academic needs.
Assist head teachers in teaching Math, Literacy, Social Studies, and social emotional learning
Interest in developing and working with subjects in an integrated curriculum
Interest in innovation and technology to develop and enhance curriculum
Additional assigned duties, such as playground and lunchroom duty
Attend faculty meetings
Strong Literacy and Math skills
Assist in creating opportunities for children to thrive and take risks
Accept and respect children as individuals and feel a part of a group and a community
Ability to develop self-confidence and self-esteem in students
Successful candidates will have:
Experience in teaching – 1-3 years minimum preferred
A bachelor’s degree
Skill in the use of technology
Ability to work in a team setting
