Under the supervision of the Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math & Science Director the Enrichment Teacher will provide lessons and activities that will prepare students to become better public speakers, debaters and communicators.
Dates: Summer Program: 6/17 – 7/26. Enrichment Course instructional dates: Monday, 7/1 – Wednesday, 7/24. Enrichment Course dates/times: Monday through Thursday, 1:45 – 3:15pm, plus weekly staff meetings. Staff Orientation: TBD. Recognition Dinner: Friday, July 26. Applicants must be available for all dates.
Typically a Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
The ability to develop rapport and work collaboratively with all members of the UB staff to attain program goals.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity and resourcefulness.
The ability to complete assignments such as progress and attendance reports in accordance with related procedures and deadlines.
The ability to adhere to and enforce all Program policies and be a positive example to students.
Experience working with students from low-income backgrounds required.
Experience overcoming barriers similar to those of Upward Bound students is desired.
