North Country School is a Junior Boarding and Day School, serving children in grades 4-9. Our school is located in the heart of the Adirondack Park and the beauty of the area is accented by the unique and supportive education that our children receive. As a junior boarding school we are dedicated to providing a rich educational experience for our students as well as honoring the schools heritage and legacy which began in 1938. The school is comprised of 80 students, has six houses that support our residential program, a working farm where the children partake in the care of the animals, designated land for the growing and harvesting of vegetables, and a curriculum which is not only focused on core academic classes but also incorporates art and music into every school day. The property welcomes outdoor activities and encourages students to explore their creativity in our woodworking, metalsmith and maker space areas.
We seek an interested teaching candidate for our 4th and 5th Grade Math and Science program. An NCS faculty member will be expected to teach three classes depending on school program’s needs and candidate's ability. An NCS faculty member will also be expected to live in (or support) a residential housing situation, be an advisor to students, lead afternoon activities and weekend trips, and immerse themselves in the culture of the community.
