Villa Academy is seeking a Third Grade Teacher to join our dynamic Lower School faculty. We seek enthusiastic, creative, knowledgeable and child-centered instructors.
This teacher will be responsible for the instruction of Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion, and Second Step/Social Skills (including class meetings) in a self-contained third grade classroom. Students have specialist teachers for Library, World Language, Music, PE. Art and Technology.
A knowledge and love of intermediate students, desire to utilize Villa’s amazing outdoor campus as part of the classroom experience, and willingness to work collaboratively with a grade level partner and the lower school team are desired qualities.
Education & Experience:
Valid Washington State Teacher certificate with appropriate endorsements
Successful elementary school teaching experience
Practicing Catholic preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Desire to understand and implement 21st Century Learning into the curriculum and daily classroom experience
Experience teaching with Literature Circles, Common Core based Math, Writers’ Workshop and Foss (inquiry-based) Science
Knowledge and application of current instructional and assessment practices/strategies
Knowledge and application of instructional technology including document camera, interactive whiteboard, Google apps, and teacher web pages
Ability to collaborate and team with colleagues as part of a professional learning community
Ability to establish and maintain positive partnerships with parent community
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
