Oakwood School in Northern Virginia is now accepting applications for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher with appropriate training to serve Elementary to Middle School students with learning disabilities. Teacher licensure in Adaptive PE or Physical Education is required.
The Oakwood School Adaptive Physical Education Teacher instructs students in sports, recreational activities, and healthy lifestyle activities in an effort to encourage and develop physical fitness, sports/athletic skills, fine/gross motor development, self-esteem, and interpersonal skills.
An appropriate candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum for elementary through middle school students with learning disabilities that ties into the overall school curriculum and philosophy, instruct middle school students in Health, adapt activities and lessons to accommodate the wide range of skill sets and abilities of the students, and provide feedback to classroom teachers about student performance and needs as part of the teaching team.

A VA Teaching License with an endorsement in PE or Adaptive PE is required.
