This is a part-time (80%) position, which will work 32 hours per week.
Summary: This position is a front-line cashier for the campus, requiring excellent customer service skills - both written and verbal communications, attention to detail and cash handling expertise.
Responsibilities: Customer Service: 60% • Posting tuition payments for in-person and mailed payments in student financial system • Answer tuition questions for students • Receive department deposits from internal customers • Distribute change orders to internal customers • Selling/renewing/refunding lockers and bike lockers in locker accounting system • Selling/refunding cards for transcripts, music keys, music instrument rental, and credit by exam • Directing students and other visitors to where they need to go, both in-person and by phone
Accounting (cash handling & fiscal): 25% • Balance individual cash drawer daily • Prepare change orders for internal customers • Validate department deposit cash and check totals • Count and balance meter money • Count money for deposit for Cash to Card • Balance the vault daily • Act as vault cashier on alternating days • Balance vault drawer • In financial system: • Prepare end of day department deposit • Process and finalize all department deposits • Make bank transfers to Wells Fargo • Prepare cash deposits to Wells Fargo twice weekly • Roll coin, clip & band currency as needed • Upload tuition payments to student financial system by Mass Select process daily • Verify prior day's tuition payments balanced and posted daily in student financial system • Balance e-payments daily between student financial system & Nelnet payment processing • Scan and deposit checks through Wells Fargo Desktop Deposit daily • Process NSF/Returned checks for all departments through Wells Fargo • Credit/debit money to UCards via Campus Cash system • Add money to Department Cash Card
Administrative: 15% • Order supplies as needed • Scan documents for the Controller's Office and Student Financial Services as needed • Review Controller's Office & Student Financial Services' scanned items for quality assurance
Other duties as assigned.
The scheduled hours for this position will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
The salary range for this position is $15.69 to $22.49 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and two years operations and/or student support experience. Training/education may substitute for some of the experience. Specific knowledge/skills may be required. May require lifting up to 25 pounds on occasion.
