The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) seeks a part-time teacher to teach Art in the middle and upper school beginning in August of 2019. The successful candidate will partner with a cohesive educational team that collectively ensures the delivery of a rich and rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
MSR is a co-educational school with students from 18 months old through 12th grade, on 48 acres and two campuses. The middle and upper school campus was established 20 years ago and a new upper school building is set to open in August of 2018. MSR was founded in 1974 and remains true to its mission to develop independent learners, critical thinkers, collaborative leaders, and courageous explorers through the internationally recognized Montessori philosophy.
Essential qualifications: creative, energetic, warm personality, and good organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with administrators, parents, students, and co-workers. An understanding of and belief in Montessori methodology and philosophy is essential. MSR is accredited by AMS, AdvancED, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Teach Art to 7th to 10th-grade students
Teach an International Baccalaureate (IB) Art class to 11th and 12th-grade students (IB experience is preferred but not required).
