We are looking for a high school economics teacher to teach economics and business to students in grades 9 through 12. The candidate will provide students with a broad introduction to the field of economics, covering concepts such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, finance, entrepreneurship, business writing and cyber economics.
It is expected the successful candidate would:
Proficiency teaching college-prep economics/business to high school students
Provide hands-on, inquiry-based activities to foster students’ scientific skills
Make economics meaningful and relevant to students’ everyday life and future careers
Provide student-centered and differentiated instruction
Communicate with students and parents as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Excellent communications; detail oriented; team player
Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS: Devon Prep’s staff has frequent encounters with visitors, students, faculty and staff throughout the campus. It is important to maintain a helpful, positive demeanor while interacting with these individuals. NATURE OF SUPERVISION:The Economics Teacher reports to the Head of Student Affairs and to the Headmaster but may be directed by other Administration during the day if emergencies arise.
