Position: Leave replacement for PE teacher, 2019-2020
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports To: Head of Physical Education
Plan, teach and assess physical education classes for classes K-VIII.
Plan, teach, and assess elective PE classes for grades IX-XII.
Evaluate and revise curriculum, course materials and methods of instruction based on the grade being taught.
Coach one season of middle school and/or varsity athletic teams.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students
Attend and participate in department and faculty meetings
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Athletic Training, and/or Health Education
A minimum of five years teaching and coaching experience with children or young adults.
A valid First Aid Certificate including CPR and AED training.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidates should be prepared to:
Work in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Work at a desk and computer for limited periods of time.
Work long hours for extended periods of time.
Be able to occasionally lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
Work in varied and extreme weather conditions.
