The Montessori Children’s House Teacher works as a co-teacher in one of our Children’s House (ages 3 – 6) classrooms. S/he ensures/creates a positive learning environment guided by the Montessori philosophies and curriculum. The Montessori Children’s House Teacher communicates well and frequently with parents as well as collaborates with colleagues and administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare the classroom environment each day beginning around 8:00 AM.
Careful observation and planning for each individual child’s developmental strengths and challenges.
Maintain high standards of Montessori practice.
Maintain a nurturing and patient stature to facilitate a content, calm and positive atmosphere.
On-going collaboration with other staff members, parents and families.
Attend full faculty/staff meetings as necessary.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in addition to Montessori Certification. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate effective classroom skills and strong communication skills. A sense of humor is essential!
