The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD is seeking candidates to fill the position of Middle School Science Teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The ideal candidate will excel in teaching Middle School science and will have at least three years of experience in teaching middle school students in general science (earth science, space science, and environmental science), life science and physical science (including principles of physics and chemistry). The ideal candidate has strong classroom management skills, experience with inquiry based lab design and implementation, experience in project-based learning, is creative and collaborative and has demonstrated success at and enjoys working as an active member of a team.
The candidate must possess a BA or a BS in an appropriate subject area. An MS degree in the subject area and/or an MA in education is preferred but not required. Experience in differentiated instruction, collaborative problem solving, and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
