The Elmira Heights Central School District Board of Education is seeking an outstanding educational leader to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools.
Approximately 1,140 pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students are served in the district’s two school buildings by 174 dedicated staff members (94 instructional). Staff includes a full-time dean of students and school counselors in each building.
Thomas A. Edison High School had a 75 percent Regents diploma graduation rate in the 2017-18 school year. Advanced courses in ELA, biology, statistics, calculus, accounting and business professionalism are offered.
Programming at Cohen Middle School focuses on career exploration. A daily activity period is designed for student participation in self-selected interest courses.
Cohen Elementary School offers full-day Universal Pre-K for four-year-old students. Reading teachers, nine teaching assistants, a technology teacher, a math support specialist, a full-time dean and a school counselor provide support for our district’s elementary students.
Our teacher mentorship program provides support for new instructional staff. Our district has a long-standing partnership with GST BOCES. Among the services we participate in are instructional support and computer services.
The successful candidate must possess New York State School District Administrator or School District Leader Certification.
