Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School and Corporate Work Study Program (DBCR) is seeking an experienced and mission-minded individual for the position of Relationships Manager.
Position start date is as soon as possible.
The Relationships Manager, in coordination with the VP for Organizational Growth, will create and manage comprehensive giving strategies that encompass individuals, foundations, and corporate job partners. S/he will identify and research leads on prospective donors, job partners, and foundations, and understand connections and relations across each of those three sectors. S/he will work closely with the VP of Organizational Growth to provide information and background materials for meeting preparation and outreach to prospective donors, grantors, and job partners. S/he will oversee the grant proposal writing process, 4-year scholarship program, planned giving, and the Junior Board.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
Manage a development plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate, foundation, and individual relationships
Coordinate the specific objectives of the plan and provide regular updates, revisions, and modifications to the plan.
Make recommendations concerning strategy and approach for new and continuing financial partners including individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
Identify and research potential donors and job partners by researching through key publications and resources, etc.
Identify emerging business leadership and industry trends with a special emphasis on developing corporate alliances
Provide background information for meetings with potential donors or job partners for the President, VP of Organizational Growth, and other key stakeholders
Work in partnership with the VP of Organizational Growth and the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop and implement the marketing and communications strategy for DBCR
Oversee the DBCR Junior Board
Oversee the four-year scholarship program and the annual appeal
Work in partnership with the VP of Organizational Growth and the Events Manager to ensure the success of the annual gala, White Party, Junior Board gala, and CWSP events
Attend Development-related events and activities as needed
Oversee the completion and submission of yearly recurring grant proposals
Oversee the research, relationship-building, and writing related to the submission of proposals to new foundation funding sources
Ensure that stewardship and reporting requirements are met to sustain successful partnerships with foundations
Build the planned giving program
Oversee volunteer coordination including the formation and implementation of strategies to engage new and existing donors more closely with DBCR and its students
Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, public relations, English or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
5-10 years of experience in a Development role
Demonstrated leadership and management experience
Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about the giving history and preferences of individuals, families, corporations, and foundations.
Successful record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals
Demonstrated success obtaining funding through grant proposals
Knowledge of planned giving programs
Track record of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Sensitivity to diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
Strong understanding of, and respect for, Catholic faith, beliefs and practices
Commitment to the mission of DBCR
Knowledge of Washington, DC philanthropic and corporate communities
Experience planning and executing organizational communications
Experience with Salesforce and/or Donor Perfect highly preferred
Experience with Wealth Engine
