The Assistant Principal is responsible for all student matters that are not academic in nature. Because student issues often cross multiple areas, the Assistant Principal must work closely with the Coordinator of Student Activities, Guidance Counselors, Department Heads, Athletic Director, and Campus Minister to resolve student needs and concerns.
The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal/Head of School
Carries out the religious mission of the school by conveying Catholic morals and values, and incorporates the teaching and tenets of the Church in all positional activities. Cooperates fully with the spiritual and ministry programs offered at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School.
Ensure student adherence to school policies and expectations of behavior, language, and appearance. Assist faculty and staff in implementing and complying with student policies and expectations
Administer appropriate discipline for student non-compliance of school policies and expectations; communicate and conference with students and parents, and record in student records. Communicate discipline to appropriate staff and faculty.
Monitor hallways, bathrooms, and common areas throughout the day. Enforce areas that are designated off-limits to students.
Issue parking permits and enforces parking regulations.
Coordinates student locker assignment. Enters student locker numbers into administrative software database. Develops and communicates timetable procedures (as needed) for cleaning out student lockers at the end of each semester and school year.
Collaborate with the Coordinator of Student Activities in the administration of student co-curricular activities and programs.
Attends extra-curricular events and assemblies sponsored by and for classes.
Monitor unexcused student absences or tardies and follow up with students and parents
Supervise the Crisis Management Team
Work with the nurse and faculty to ensure that students with health concerns have any needed classroom accommodations and receive missing assignments due to medical absences.
Staff and oversee operations of detention and suspension duties
Staff and oversee additional supervisory duties of teachers
Supervise the update and printing of student-parent handbook, and student planner
