Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks an experienced, full-time, Director of Enrollment.
The Director of Enrollment is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to recruit, enroll and retain students in grades 5-12. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the School’s admissions process including guiding students and families through the admission process, conducting candidate/family interviews, tracking and reviewing candidate applications, and communicating admission and financial aid decisions. The Director coordinates student retention efforts in collaboration with school leadership team. This role collaborates with Director of Advancement to implement and assess a vibrant, comprehensive and effective admission marketing program. The Director engages in effective community outreach to expand the School’s reputation and admissions reach in central Virginia. This position reports to the Head of School.

Successful candidates will have at least 5-7 years experience in independent school admissions, be highly organized and detail-oriented and have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated success in growing enrollment and familiarity with admissions trends and initiatives preferred. We seek an individual who shares our strong enthusiasm for the School and desire to lead efforts to recruit, enroll and retain mission-appropriate students and families. This role requires a responsive, action-oriented person who can operate both independently and as a vital team member within a fast-paced environment. This is an exempt position, which may require overtime and some weekends.
