Description of Position: La Cañada Unified School District is seeking a dynamic and visionary Elementary Principal to provide leadership at Palm Crest Elementary. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of best educational practices, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the success of all students. The Elementary Principal will join an innovative management team dedicated to program excellence.
The Elementary Principal is responsible for implementing the policies and procedures of the District, the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education, the Education Code, and the general laws of California. He/she fulfills these responsibilities as the administrative and instructional leader of the school, by developing the performance objectives for specific areas of the position.
Work Calendar: 12-month calendar, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Chosen candidate will start in the position immediately upon background check clearance.
Salary Range: Step placement on the CMSA certificated salary schedule will be based upon education and years of experience in an administrative position, with the starting salary ranging between $125,476 and $145,582. Annual performance bonuses may be earned by administrators. An additional 3% of salary amount is available for professional development opportunities, and cell phone and mileage stipends will be included.
The District offers excellent benefits packages, with the current District contribution going up to $15,505 per year.

Previous Experience: Five (5) or more years of successful teaching experience and five (5) years of successful administrative experience.
Education: Master’s Degree or higher.
Credential: Valid California teaching credential and valid California administrative credential.
