Saint Benedict Catholic School seeks a Music Teacher to start Fall 2019.
The Music Teacher will teach basic musicianship including terms, theory, and reading primarily through singing. Third graders also learn to play the recorder. The Music Teacher will teach all PK – 8 music classes, and coordinate music for school masses. Experience/training in the Ward method is preferred. (part-time exempt, approx. 13 hours per week)
hold a bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university, in mathematics, science, engineering or related area
have a passion and commitment to classical education
be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
upon employment, be able to pass criminal background checks
hold a Virginia Teacher Certification with an endorsement covering Algebra I & Geometry or have the qualifications necessary to obtain one upon hire
training or background as a Mathematics Specialist is highly desired
have coursework in a broad array of areas
