The Academic Enrichment Program teacher is a member of the Academic Support/Resource Department and is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing curriculum associated with the Academic Enrichment Program for grades 9-12. This program provides educational support for students who require additional support as they navigate the curriculum and demands of a college preparatory curriculum. This resource teacher will work closely with the Academic Support Coordinator and the Assistant Principal for Academics in order to ensure that the needs of students are being fully met.
Assist with all mathematics lessons in the Academic Enrichment Program for grades 9-12, including individual and small group instruction.
Collaborate and coordinate lessons with Academic Enrichment instructional team and Coordinator.
Assist with the overall Academic Enrichment program as necessary and required.
Interact and communicate with students and parents in a professional manner, with skills in both oral and written communications.
Collaborate with and serve as a resource for classroom teachers.
A degree and experience in Special Education are required.
Possess or be willing to obtain a Virginia teaching license or VCEA license.
This position knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and requires the expertise to instruct students in Algebra I and Algebra II.
