Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Principal Secretary for the Athletic Performance Center (APC).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Acts as a greeter to welcome people into the building and direct them their destination in the building.
Provides administrative support assistance to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Events and Operations.
Provides confidential and coordinating secretarial/clerical support to a university administrator or office.
Arranges meetings and associated logistics.
Designs word processing routines to access, manipulate, and transmit files for specific uses and performs a variety of additional advanced and basic word processing assignments.
Provides information; greets and directs visitors to proper destination; arranges schedules, appointments, and reservations; distributes mail; takes dictation; maintains records and files; and performs related duties.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a high school/vocational school education or equivalent plus three years of any equivalent combination of: secretarial experience, college-level study, advanced secretarial training, or clerical experience, provided secretarial experience accounts for at least one year of any such combination. Requires demonstrated data entry/word-processing/typing skills and working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must have effective client service skills.
May require shorthand, stenographic, and/or machine transcription skills.
Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations preferred.
Knowledge and familiarity with recruiting software preferred.
Ability to manage social networking preferred.
Requires good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Software. Knowledge of photocopy machines and fax machines.
