Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for Substitute Teachers for the 2019-20 school year. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
Substitute teachers play a pivotal role in the overall education of our students.
When our teachers are absent we rely on quality substitute teachers to help ensure continuation of regular school classes and activities. We are looking for talented professionals committed to working with students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grades. Substitute teachers are needed for daily assignments and hours of work will vary based on need. Class sizes range from 15 to 20 students. Calvert School pays substitute teachers’ $12.00/hour.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma. A Bachelor’s degree and prior teaching experience is preferred. A State of Maryland and FBI background check will be performed.
