Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school in Washington, DC seeks an Interim Part-time English teacher for its Upper School division. This position will be responisble for teaching 4 sections during the 2019-2020 school year.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in English (a master’s is preferred) and at least three years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. A deep understanding of American, British, and Anglophone literature is also required. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and will show a willingness to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced academic environment. An appreciation for adolescents and a sense of humor are also essential.
