Located in Wilmington, NC, Cape Fear Academy is southeastern North Carolina’s premier PK3-12 independent school. Applications are now being accepted for the following position:
Upper/Middle School Math Lab Teacher
Tutor students in Math in our Math Lab: MS Math thru Algebra I & Geometry, HS Math Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, & Statistics
Teach 1 MS or HS section of Math
Will mentor 25 – 30 online courses per semester (working with the Academic Dean)
Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of all students.
Collaborate with staff members to support lessons and a positive school culture
Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations
Continuously communicate and build relationships with students and families
Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Teacher should have a strong understanding of adolescent development and a passion for teaching Math
Teacher should have a record of successfully teaching upper and middle school math courses.
Teacher should have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Math field required, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three or more years of Math and upper school teaching experience required. Experience teaching and tutoring a variety of math subjects is strongly preferred.
