Christ Episcopal School (CES), a small, independent school serving students from preschool through grade 8, is seeking a dynamic candidate able to teach a variety of middle school math courses (Math 6, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry) for the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal person would have a passion for both middle school aged students and mathematics in general, be creative, dynamic, and flexible, and thrive in a small class environment that elicits differentiated learning. Along with the knowledge of the core content, this candidate would have diverse methods of instruction and assessment for teaching problem solving and critical thinking skills while developing students’ self-confidence and teamwork. This person would be interested in joining a collaborative team of coworkers with the goal of helping middle school children develop socially, emotionally, and academically both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements of a successful candidate for Middle School Team Leader at CES:
An undergraduate degree (master’s preferred) in mathematics education
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience
An ability to differentiate instruction and offer project-based learning opportunities
Interest in developing education leadership skills
Experience with using technology in the classroom
A desire to work as part of a team
Good time-management skills
Initiative and creativity
A high level of energy
