The Department of Educational Leadership and Administration (DELA) in the School of Education at Gonzaga University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2020. Expertise in U.S. K-12 school leadership at the building, district, or state level is required. The faculty members will teach in both the Masters of Education in Educational Leadership (MEEL) degree program and in the Doctorate of Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) Program. Both programs have face-to-face and online components. The master's degree and Ed.D programs in DELA are designed for working professionals who desire to be educational leaders in their schools and districts. The focus is on linking theory and research to professional practice in order to develop individual capacity for school leadership. Course assignments require candidates to apply their learning in order to critically analyze problems and respond to real-world issues in their professional work.
Ed.D. or Ph.D. by Fall 2020 in an area applicable to the Doctor of Educational Leadership program
A minimum of three years of experience as a K-12 school leader at the building, district or state level in the U.S. with demonstrated effectiveness in any of the following: o Analyzing data to improve schools and teaching practices, o Leveraging fiscal resources to improve schools, or o Influencing state or federal governmental structures that impact the financial well-being of local school systems and initiatives
A minimum of three years of experience teaching and advising adult learners (e.g., in higher education)
Demonstrated commitment to Gonzaga's mission as a Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic institution, especially to social justice within the context of K-12 and graduate education
