The Campaign Director is a new position on the Development team responsible for the implementation of a capital campaign, currently in the early planning stages. The Campaign Director will report to the Director of Development, and will work closely with the Head of School, DoD, Board of Trustees, Engagement and Philanthropy Committee, and campaign committees, and will help create and carry out a fundraising plan in support of the campaign. They will oversee the necessary systems and practices that will support this initiative, monitor fundraising progress, and ensure an integration and collaboration between campaign and annual fundraising programs. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success executing major gift strategies, and senior leadership working on a campaign.
Implement the campaign in collaboration with the Head of School, Director of Development, Board of Trustees, and campaign committees.
Together with campaign committees, establish campaign goals and metrics, analyze fundraising data to monitor project success, and recommend revisions to the fundraising plan, as needed, to meet goals.
Work closely with our consultant and assist with scheduling meetings for the feasibility study.
Track pledges, payments, and invoices, and monitor the campaign budget, as well as develop reports for the Board, campaign committees, school leadership, and others as needed.
Manage the campaign prospect list by developing specific cultivation plans and solicitation strategies for a range of prospects and provide support to school and volunteer leadership in advancing prospect and donor strategies.
Manage campaign policies and practices, including but not limited to gift policies, donor acknowledgement, recognition and reporting.
Oversee campaign communications, in partnership with the Director of Communications, including the design, development and dissemination of print and electronic collateral materials.
Maintain the campaign calendar, ensuring that it is coordinated with the Development Office and school calendars.
Plan events related to the campaign including the kickoff, end-of-campaign celebration, and several small informational donor events.
Collaborate with Development to ensure campaign and annual support programs and activities are fully integrated.
Build a portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity, interest and inclination to make lead gifts to the campaign, with the expectation of securing a substantial amount of the campaign through leadership donations.
Design and manage campaign and major donor strategies that maximize, recognize and celebrate their philanthropic involvement with FASPS.
Manage the campaign fundraising budget in concert with the Director of Development, Head of School, and CFO.
Work closely with the Development Associate who manages the database to ensure that data related to campaign prospects and donors is recorded and tracked in the database.
Partner with the Head of School, leadership volunteers, and DoD on donor qualification, outreach, and solicitations.
Experience working in a school environment, preferably an independent day school.
Fundraising experience with a focus on campaigns and major gifts.
A strong belief in the value of an independent day school education, and the benefit of a bi-lingual learning experience.
High-energy self-starter with a positive attitude who takes initiative and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Track record of success in a capital campaign of similar scope.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement leadership gift strategies.
Experience collaborating with senior and volunteer leadership to advance philanthropic programs, earning trust and holding respect, and inspiring greater engagement.
Excellent project management, including planning and critical evaluation of an initiative, designing metrics to monitor performance, and motivating a team to achieve goals.
Superior organizational abilities and detail oriented.
Excellent communication, persuasion, and presentation skills.
