Responsible to the Director of ETSU Little Buccaneers for serving as major caregiver in assigned classroom; and performing other related duties as assigned (10-month contract and contingent on grant funding).
The teacher will implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum which encourages learning through exploration and discovery and promotes the development of a positive self-image.
The teacher will utilize teaching strategies and assessment tools that support each child's individualized learning goals including goals that are outlined on an Individualized Education plan (IEP) and align with Tennessee Early Learning Development Standards (TN-ELDS).
The teacher will model positive social interactions and language.
The teacher will implement positive class management techniques and strategies.
All practices the teacher uses must be consistent with guidelines put forth by ETSU and the Tennessee's Department of Human Services.
