Position Summary: The main function of this position is to provide support for students and provide them with practical information and the encouragement necessary to facilitate a successful year in Israel and a smooth transition back to YU. Admissions coordinators visit seminaries throughout the year and endeavor to foster meaningful connections with students and address their questions and concerns as they pertain to Yeshiva University. The admissions coordinator reports to the Director of the S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing a personal connection with students who are enrolled in the YU S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program, as well as all students enrolled in schools on YUs Israel Program and beyond
Provide services to students enrolled on the YU S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program; including academic and career advisement individually and in groups, registration and general information by maintaining contact with students throughout the year
Interface with SDA affiliate school leadership on specific students and potential issues, including academic and financial concerns
Maintain proficiency with the universitys database program and provide updated information to the admissions office in NY
Recruit, interview, register, follow up on inquiries and advise prospective new students for YU, and facilitate interactions with other staff as needed
Create, organize and help execute special programs and extra-curricular events for all students.
Represent YU at co-sponsored events with other student organizations
Coordinate trips for visiting members of the YU administration (i.e. President, Deans, Professors, teachers, etc.) and transport them when necessary
Experience & Educational Background:
Undergraduate degree; Computer literate Microsoft Office, Email and Internet, proficiency with social media platforms, Hebrew fluency, high-level writing skills, Drivers license required
