Associate Director Corporate & Foundation Relations - Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine - (19001756)
The Corporate and Foundation Relations department has an opening for an Associate Director, working with Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. This position develops and executes a robust corporate engagement and fundraising program targeting foundations and national and international corporations with the goal of deepening relationships with and increasing support from institutional donors for the priorities and initiatives of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
In this role you will work closely with the Senior Director, faculty, School Leadership and others (Technology Transfer, Career Development and Legal Counsel) to develop corporate and foundation engagement strategies and advance relationships with corporations and foundations (ranging from sponsored/collaborative research agreements, sponsorships, philanthropy, and internship experiences, among others).
Bachelor's degree required.
5-7 years of fundraising, technology transfer, business development or corporate alliance in a complex development organization.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated experience writing proposal and securing corporate and foundation gifts.
Experience in an academic setting.
Advanced degree or degree in STEM disciplines.
Ability to work with and command the respect of faculty and administrators, and nurture productive working partnerships internally and externally.
Ability to grasp and synthesize complex information across a range of issues and technical disciplines.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to prioritize work in response to multiple demands.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently AND as part of multiple teams.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, develops and executes a corporate and foundation engagement and fundraising program and School-wide strategy that clearly articulates Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University institutional niche. The ideal candidate will set and meet departmental goals and create and implement tracking and reporting systems to assess department achievement. Works with the Senior Director to identify, research, and set strategies for new prospective institutional donors. Coordinates corporate and foundation relations activities across the institution and ensures visits to campus by institutional donors are well planned and executed.
Manages own portfolio of top prospects through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles. Develops and cultivates key relationships with potential new corporate and foundation partners; Develops proposals, project descriptions, case statements, briefings, profiles, and other materials for senior officers and faculty involved in cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation prospects. Serves as a resource to faculty, helping to devise and implement engagement and fund-raising strategies.
Meets regularly with members of the faculty, academic administration, and other key institutional leaders to stay informed of institutional priorities, and to identify and respond to opportunities for increasing corporate and foundation engagement and support. Maintains and strengthens communications with campus partners, such as the Office of Sponsored Research, and Office of Technology Transfer.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Must be able to travel to domestic and local destinations as required. Some international travel may be required.
